Norn' Ireland

was a pretty great nye this year - nice and chilled in a little cottage (well more like a house) in a sleepy little village by the sea on the north antrim coast in northern ireland (hence the blog post title).

8 of us, a random collective of friends (including 2 of my best pals - bella and monky) spent a week punishing our livers with an excess of alcohol (well maybe just me) but reedemed ourselves through the power of the country walk. the local beach was absolutely beautiful, possibly even more so during dark and stormy weather. we also spent a most enjoyable day at giant's causeway - the reward being the national trust tea room!

i was introduced to a new nye tradition by bella and her friend walker's crisps - the death list. you write down the names of 5 famous people you predict will die before the year is out (i.e. next nye). i stress the fact that it is prediction not a death wish list! the points are worked out by subtracting their age from 100 therefore the younger they are, the more points you get ( i do realise its a wee bit sick).
